Belmont's Housing Counselors are available to help you free of charge with Rental, Financial, Homebuying, Foreclosure Prevention, and Post-Purchase home buying questions.
Our Housing Counseling Team has adopted the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling, and all Belmont counselors have certifications through the NeighborWorks Center for Homeownership Education and Counseling (NCHEC).
First Time Homebuyers
Belmont offers both one-on-one and class education on the process of purchasing a home, first time homebuyer programs, savings, creating a spending plan, credit counseling, and goal setting. Our Homebuyer Education workshops are always free of charge.
Foreclosure Prevention
Private, confidential counseling with experienced NCHEC Certified Foreclosure Counselors. Discover your foreclosure prevention options, information on current government programs, assistance in completion of loss mitigation paperwork, negotiations of modifications with lenders, and referrals to non-profit legal and other community resources.
Financial Education & Coaching
We can help you determine your budget, create a spending plan, understand your credit report, set financial goals and more! Additionally, we offer free financial education classes!
Rental Counseling
Belmont offers free assistance with your housing search, information on your rights as a tenant, benefits screening, budget & credit assistance, and more! Stop in our main street office where we have phones and computers to help with your search.
Homeowner Counseling
One-on-one counseling on financial management for homeowners and referrals for home improvement loans.
